"Three Weeks for Dreamwidth"
Three Weeks for Dreamwidth 2011, April 25th - May 15th

It's Three Weeks For Dreamwidth time again! Join in the fun over at [community profile] three_weeks_for_dw.

My favourite things I've found over there so far:

There's also a Dreamwidth Fairy Meme for people who'd like free time but can't afford it.

Also, I'm gonna try to do that 21 Days of Dreamwidth meme I keep seeing everywhere, only I forgot to do it yesterday, so I'll have to do two days worth today.

1. Why did you sign up for Dreamwidth?
It seemed interesting - everyone over at LJ was talking about it and people were frantically trying to get invite codes, and... I dunno, part of me didn't think I could get an invite because you had to know someone who had one to give you, so I kinda gave up on the idea pretty quickly. And then a friend of mine, let's call him A, said he was going to be getting some invite codes for the open beta launch and would anyone like one? I put my name forward, but didn't really hold out much hope.

A didn't give me an invite code. He gave me a year's worth of paid time.

I kind of had to stay after that.

2. Why did you choose your journal name?
I'M A KITTY!

The "angel" bit has been with me for a while - on one of the first websites I was on, one of the guys gave me the nickname "babaloney-w00 angel" and one of the girls called me her "rainsoaked angel". I can't remember which one came first, but I ended up using both as usernames at some point on LJ (side note: I was an icon maker under the name babaloney_w00 until I realised it stopped being fun due to the amount of icons people were expecting me to make - now I only make graphics for myself, or because I want to make a present for someone). The original username for my primary LJ account was "heartfelt_angel", a name I came up with because of the aforementioned nicknames. I never really felt like I lived up to that name, and I think it gave people expectations of me that... Well, let's put it this way: I nearly won Prom Queen at [livejournal.com profile] theljprom with that username, because people had the idea that I was nice.

Luckily, when I changed to [personal profile] angelikitten, nobody knew who I was anymore, so I was okay to be a bit more catty once in a while. MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

All the 21 Days of Dreamwidth questions )
A kitty in a santa hat!
I'm okay.

Well, actually, I'm not okay, but I'm okay with that. It is not my fault if I'm going through a low patch with my depression, even if I really should have seen it coming a mile off - that was a mistake, everyone makes them, right? Right. Anyway, I'm making up for it by treating myself nicely. I'm even offsetting having a bath (I hate baths, I'm a shower person, but I don't have a shower and even if I did I'd probably fall over, so a bath it is) with 80s classics. Of course, Christmas songs would have been better, but even with all the stations I can get on my radio, there doesn't seem to be one devoted to Christmas music, which is a massive shame, because I would so listen to that :(

So, what are your favourite Christmas songs?

(Christmas music makes me happy, and I could do with more happy, so the question is totally relevant to the rest of the post.)

Things I learned on my trip to the supermarket today:

  1. When boarding a bus, saying "Good morrow to thee, good sir. I wish to purchase a ticket" will not impress the driver.
  2. I am easily enticed by rainbow-striped stationary, especially if it is cheap.
  3. My version of "Living La Vida Loca" impresses no-one. Neither does my dancing to it.

In other words, I'm much easier to impress/please than other people. Which we all already knew. So, in effect, I have learned a grand total of nothing.

But I do have a new rainbow-striped folder, so it's not like the trip was a complete waste.
Two women in fancy dress kissing
Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy yesterday. It went well. I had a Lush bath, and wore my pretty back dress, and was very nice to myself all day.

I also wrote and posted my first explicit(?) porn: Mother Tongue (Final Fantasy X: Yuna/Rikku). Slightly geeky language learning porn FTW! And now I never have to write actual porn again, except there's this other prompt for the same challenge that I kinda want to do. I like my small fandoms though, and I'm not sure if the Rocky Horror Picture Show is a small enough fandom fanfic-wise for me to feel comfortable posting something for it.

Someone filled one of my prompts over at [community profile] queerlygen: Babysitting at the CNY Parade (Saving Face: Wil, Vivian, Wil's sister)! It is so pretty.

And finally, just to scare you all, I spent most of yesterday morning reading about a programme I remember from my childhood, and remembered something... interesting. Anyone else remember Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons? I shipped White/Green. You know how old I was when I first saw that? I was seven. I WAS A SEVEN YEAR OLD SLASHER. And I totally thought that all the Angels were doing it between missions! No wonder I've ended up like this.

Random fact of the day: I've never had a bad Friday the 13th. Okay, so I've dealt with low points on those days, but they've always started prior to the actual day, and therefore do not count. I have, however, had some horrible Saturday the 14ths, and last Thursday the 12th was a disaster.

I'm thinking about cutting some people from my LJ flist - namely people who update regularly, but I never actually talk to, because we have so little in common. Part of me also wants to subscribe to more people on DW, but I need to get into the habit of commenting on the journals I'm already subscribing to first. I guess I'm just scared of how I'll come across to some people, especially right now.

Talking of Dreamwidth, I want to ask some questions about sex. Okay, bit of a jump there, but let me explain - I feel comfortable enough to ask these questions to a wider audience here, but not at LiveJournal. No, I don't know why.

But where? [community profile] sex has about 8 members, [community profile] sextips about 2 or 3, and neither of them have any (public) posts. However, it might get people talking in those communities, which might generate more members.

Well, you know what happens when I don't know what to do...

[NOTE: The poll title was meant to be "Let's talk about sex!", but I totally forgot that apostrophes and standard poll coding do not mix.]

Yami Yugi looking lost in thought - from Yu-Gi-Oh
I'm going to start posting random facts about me on the days that I can't come up with an actual post. Because reading about my depression can't be fun.

So today's fact is: I own no yellow clothing.

(I've only just realised that this may be a shortcoming - when you're wearing blue knickers and a red bra, you really need a pair of yellow socks.)

Also, a poll to check whether I'm the only person who thinks a certain way - brought to you by the power of creepy Twilight merch.
The following poll contains links that may be Not Safe For Work - the rest of the links may be Not Safe For Brain )
