Feb. 17th, 2010 08:53 amI've noticed that, for Dreamwidth's first (open beta) anniversary, people are planning meetups. And while some people would like to go to said meetups, they can't for some reason (location, money, time, accessibility, nerves, etc).
My proposed solution: a virtual meetup!
PS: Poll is just to see if anyone else but me is even vaguely interested in this idea, and is not a binding contract - agreeing to anything in this poll does not mean that you actually have to do anything.

Poll #2300 Virtual meetup?

Should there be a virtual meetup for Dreamwidth's 1st birthday?
If I organised a virtual meetup, would you be interested in helping out (this includes simply advertising it)?
Would you attend a virtual meetup?

~*~Owner of a lonely heart...~*~
Feb. 9th, 2010 07:50 pmI've made a decision: I'm taking back Valentine's Day.
On Sunday I'm going to have a day of self-love: I'm going to be positive about myself and maybe even pamper myself a little, because I deserve it. So maybe I might have to spend the next few days convincing myself that I actually do deserve it, but I do, and so does everyone else!

Who's in?
A little help here?
Feb. 9th, 2010 01:07 pmSo, I'm hoping to expand my DVD collection a little, and have some great suggestions of things to buy.
BUT I have no idea whether I'll even be able to enjoy some of these suggestions, because I simply do not know if English subtitles will be available on the DVD. I'm having to buy them on the internet, so I'm having to rely on the websites to provide that information - except that these aren't massively popular films, so often the information isn't provided.
Which is why I really need your help.
If you happen to own one of the following on DVD, can you please check whether it has the option to view English and/or other language subtitles during the film? If you could also say which region it's from, that would be really useful.
[Note: links go to the film's IMDB page, so you can check that we're talking about the same film.]
[Edit] Please feel free to pass this post on to other people who might be able to help - I could use all the help I can get with this.
[Edit #2] For the record, my DVD player is Region 2, but I know people who have multi-region players, so other regions can be an option if needed.

Quick note:
Dec. 22nd, 2009 09:35 pmWhile my sister's here (which she will be any minute), if you really want to talk to me either call/text me (if you have my number) or direct message me on twitter (same username as here) - I'll still be checking my emails/comments when I can, but the DMs are texted right to my phone, so I'll be able to get them at any time.
Attention everyone:
Dec. 7th, 2009 11:29 amI love my Dreamwidth layout.
That is all.
(My LiveJournal layout is pretty similar, but I like the Dreamwidth one more. With the amount of time I've spent messing around with the code to get it how it is, I'd better damn well like it.)

Yet another test...
Aug. 24th, 2009 05:14 pmDreamwidth readers - like half of DW, I'm testing out the new comment count functionality when crossposting. Make a random comment so I can see if it works! This includes any lurkers and passersby :)
Livejournal readers - there's a little number at the bottom of this post, right? That should tell you how many comments there are on the corresponding dreamwidth entry. I don't know why you'd want to know that, but it might come in useful :)
[Edit] IT WORKS! \o/

If you're not recieving comment notifications to your entries through your email properly, you might want to look at this:

Don't be put off by it being a Dreamwidth link - the instructions work on LiveJournal too. I'm not sure how it works, only that it does work, because I've tried it and it does.
(I got a reply from
denise! *dances*)

May. 7th, 2009 12:30 pmI'm working (very slowly) on a moodtheme for my DW account. It probably looks really rubbish, but I think it's cute, so it's staying. Not that I've actually made half the moods yet, but there you go.
