Current mood: ow
Entry tags:20 pounds of crazy in a 5 pound bag, hurts like hell, snapshots, this is why we can't have nice things, walking with a stick

I could post an entry about how I fell over (again) on Friday (I got several snowballs thrown at me by more than one group of teenage boys, while I was using my stick, and one of them caught me off balance), or about how I spent most of yesterday crying (because depression is lovely like that), or about how the headache I woke up with this morning seems to be turning into something worse (the painkillers aren't even touching it, but I can just about deal with it if I stay lying down). But that would be boring (and involve looking at the screen for longer than I'm prepared to right now).

So why don't I just show you some snow instead?

(That's the view from my front room window, covered in about 4 inches of snow, in case you're wondering.)

... what asshats. D:

Getting rest really seems to be the wisest thing to do. I hope your headache will get better eventually. *hugs*

Sometimes I find myself silently advocating to the unspoken jury in my head for the quarantine and social reeducation of all boys between the ages of 11 and 17. It's mean and wrong, I've known some very good boys, but in packs, they tend toward the awful.

I'm glad you weren't injured in your fall. I hope your headache resolves itself with quickness.

Social re-education would be a fantastic idea. I don't care how much of a bad person thinking that makes me.

I think we'd have to start with social re-education of the adult men who enable and excuse boys' behavior under the old, stupid boys will be boys mentality.

Teenaged boys are disgusting, really. Their brains haven't fully developed (not that teenaged girls have, but they're terrible in a whole other way) and the 'boys will be boys' attitude makes that kind of behaviour 'okay' to them. One of the many reasons I opted out of a career as a teacher.

Thank goodness you weren't injured when you fell.

Teenage boys are the pits. I used to be a youth worker dealing with 16 to 18 year olds of both sexes, and it was hard work, especially since they were the ones that had dropped out of school, college &c.

Strangely enough, most of the boys were divided into those who wanted to be mechanics and those who wanted to join the armed forces, altho' actually getting them there to do said work was another matter. The main problem we had with the girls was that one of them would fall pregnant from time to time.

I'm wondering what your tag, this is why we can't have nice things, actually means? I've got an idea but I don't know for sure.

In this case, the nice thing would be snow (which I like), but I can't enjoy it because of people who are just plain mean :(

Our final count was 21". Renee and I were just out this morning scooping our loooong driveway. She's got a narrow path cut to the road, and I worked from the other edge of the garage door and made a swing out on the one side that I need to turn the car around in. I'll be going out again here in just a bit to widen more of Renee's path further from the garage.

That's a nice pic you got there. Hope that pain subsides now.
