Random fact of the day: I've never had a bad Friday the 13th. Okay, so I've dealt with low points on those days, but they've always started prior to the actual day, and therefore do not count. I have, however, had some horrible Saturday the 14ths, and last Thursday the 12th was a disaster.

I'm thinking about cutting some people from my LJ flist - namely people who update regularly, but I never actually talk to, because we have so little in common. Part of me also wants to subscribe to more people on DW, but I need to get into the habit of commenting on the journals I'm already subscribing to first. I guess I'm just scared of how I'll come across to some people, especially right now.

Talking of Dreamwidth, I want to ask some questions about sex. Okay, bit of a jump there, but let me explain - I feel comfortable enough to ask these questions to a wider audience here, but not at LiveJournal. No, I don't know why.

But where? [community profile] sex has about 8 members, [community profile] sextips about 2 or 3, and neither of them have any (public) posts. However, it might get people talking in those communities, which might generate more members.

Well, you know what happens when I don't know what to do...

[NOTE: The poll title was meant to be "Let's talk about sex!", but I totally forgot that apostrophes and standard poll coding do not mix.]

Based purely on how active the members are in their own journal and, thus, how likely they might be to see your questions on their reading page, I'd got for the sex community. Two of their members have updated their own journal within this month according to their stats. So, uhm, yeah, I'd guess that that would be your best bet.

The group Sex - I don't know what DW's link tag is - sounds to me like the place to ask questions and SexTips sounds like a place to get information.

I'm sure that your Friends list would be happy to answer any questions you have.

I want to get a wider array of answers/opinions on this particular question than usual. I'll probably post what I post there over here too anyway (although maybe not on LJ - I've got some very conservative people on my flist there).

(BTW the link tag is [user name=username], but with the pointy brackets.)

I don't post anything too private or emotional here, I save that for the Other Place.

I think of there as the Friday night out at the pub with everyone having a whale of a time, and here as when the barman locks in your closest friends and pours a stiff whisky.

Thanks for the tag tips. I knew it was different from the Other Place's way. I've joined [community profile] sex and [community profile] sextips just to see what all the fuss is about. And it's a subject I like, being a guy.

At this point, I've decided I will never move to dreamwidth, and I will never comment if someone disables comments on LJ. With the way that the cookies on this comp work I need to choose one or the other or have even less time to comment than I do. So I picked LJ.

But LJ cuts can be useful, I trim mine fairly regularly now, means you have more time to keep up with people that you want to!

That's fair enough. I only keep posting about the invites because I'm sure someone said something about wanting one recently, and I can't remember who.

Some people on my flist haven't said a word to me since before I changed my username (which was a while back now), but I never got around to cutting them. I probably should really.

I've heard that some people actually consider Friday 13th to be lucky! I've only had two bad Friday 13ths - yesterday was one of them - but they're things that would happen on any given day and other days, like...I dunno, Tuesday 24th or something, have been way worse. I think that nowadays people are quicker to notice things that go badly on Friday 13th, so even though other days could be much worse, the bad things that happen on Friday 13th stick in their minds more, and it's easy for them to attribute it to the day itself.

This was a really poorly worded comment, sorry! I don't think I made much sense.

BTW, not a problem here. I know I'm not updating much anyway.

Maybe we'll reconnect at some point in the future! If not, have a nice life!
